From Anthony O. Dr. Colton brought me and my family in for a consultation to discuss how to deal with the cancer. He informed us of all the options that were available. He recommenced that I get a second opinion and also speak with specialists offering options other than surgery. After reading all the literature regarding the various options and my candidacy for each them, I jumped at the opportunity to undergo robotic surgery because I felt I was a good candidate, and I had a lot to gain by this procedure. My choice was vindicated when the prostrate was removed and it was discovered that the cancer was more extensive than first thought and that it had not left the prostrate. The surgery required an overnight stay in the hospital. I was already on my feet the evening of the surgery. I had to wear a catheter attached to a bag for a period of ten days. I drove and attended several family functions within days, with no problem. After the catheter was removed, I experienced incontinence which has been slowly diminishing. I was given Kegel exercises to help with my recovery from the incontinence. I cannot express enough the professionalism exhibited , not only by Drs. Colton and Zimmerman, but by their staffs and the hospital personnel. They left no stone unturned. All the information that was to be had and questions to be asked were dealt with. I'm very thankful to have been in such good hands.
