I recently underwent prostate surgery using the DiVinci robotic technology under Dr. Gregg Zimmerman of Morris Urology which, I’m happy to say, was a great success. After the usual tests, it was determined that I was a good candidate for this procedure and was advised to have it. I spent only one night in the hospital and was sent home the next day with minor soreness easily controlled with pain killers. There were 6 small incisions that quickly healed and my only physical restrictions were limited to lifting anything heavy. Dr. Zimmerman advised the worst part of the whole process would be wearing a catheter for the first 10 days. This turned out to be true. Within a month of the surgery I had no lingering after effects from the surgery other than minor incontinence which is rapidly improving. I cannot state strongly enough how much easier and how much quicker recovery is compared to what I understand standard prostate surgery to be.
