From Peter L.
You go every year for a physical and blood work but you are never prepared to hear that your PSA number has jumped four points and that you need to get checked for prostate cancer. I was scared. Luckily, I was referred to Dr. Zimmerman.
My objective here is not to review the tests that were performed, the information I received, the choices available to me, how I researched the disease, or the process I underwent. I'll leave that to the experts and your own good judgment.
What I do want to tell you about is the treatment and care I received from Dr. Zimmerman and his staff.
From the first meeting, I was impressed with his professionalism and demeanor. Throughout, he addressed both my physical and emotional needs with great skill and compassion, using language that I could understand.
He took great pains to ensure that all of my questions and concerns were addressed. There were multiple appointments and one night, after a full day of patients, we met for two hours to discuss my circumstances. This included discussing options other than surgery.
When I made my decision to go with the robotic approach, I felt confident that it was the right alternative for me.
One May 1st, I had the robotic procedure and it was a success. In my case, I was able to reap the advantages of the technology, including a quicker recovery time. I've been back to work for eight weeks now. I feel great, I have some minor incontinence issues that are improving, and I am confident that the future is bright.
Particularly since Dr. Zimmerman and his staff will always be in my corner.
Be comfortable in whatever you choose to address your situation. I recommend you seek out the one thing that made the major difference to me - it was Dr. Zimmerman.
He will guide you and see you through. He will provide the leadership you need. You can use his confidence and courage when yours gets a little shaky. You can believe in him.
Good luck to you.
