From Robert K. I was admitted @ 9:30 AM on a Tuesday for a radical prostatectomy using the DaVinci Robot. Because of Dr. Colton's skilled hands at the controls, all went well and I was home eating lunch the next day. The minute incisions were covered with "Steri Strips." I had no residual pain, was able to shower, and could do whatever I wanted, within reason, of course. Limiting factor was the catheter, but, that was only for 13 days. I drove to the office that Monday to have the catheter removed and returned to work the next day, albeit on a limited basis, gradually working up to a full day by Friday. I will tell you that I do sit at a desk and PC, and do not do strenuous work. If the patient follows Dr. Colton's instructions, there is no reason why the experience would be any different. If you are contemplating the procedure, Dr. Colton and his robotic buddy are the only way to fly!!
